Course description

These 2-day courses are ideally suited to people of all levels of experience.  It offers people the opportunity to learn about tractor safety in a safe learning environment.

This micro-credential consists of 16 credits at Level 2 and 3 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify the legal requirements for tractor use.
  • Identify hazards and describe control measures and the requirements for reporting accidents or near misses.
  • Attach and detach a power take off driven 3-point linkage mounted implement.
  • Operate a tractor on flat terrain.
  • Describe factors that affect tractor stability and dynamics of a tractor with attached implements.
  • Operate and maintain a power take off driven implement.

Safe Operation of a Light Utility Vehicle (LUV) Micro Credential Level 3

Course description

Delivering necessary skills and knowledge to operate a light utility vehicle effectively and safely while reducing the risk to themselves and others.  Structured learning adds value and provides basic essential knowledge to operate a light utility vehicle before developing specific workplace skills.

This micro-credential consists of 17 credits at Level 2 and 3 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).

Course description

To provide people with the skills and knowledge of the rules and requirements needed to safely use a chainsaw as part of a wilding pines pest control programme or in other primary sector environments where trees need to be safely removed.
